This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules that apply to your use of the BeaconHQ platform (the "Service"). It is incorporated by reference into the BeaconHQ Terms of Service, and capitalised terms have the meanings given in those Terms. A serious or repeated breach of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your Subscription under the Terms of Service.
1. General principle
You may use the Service only for legitimate business purposes connected with your construction-industry activities, in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You are responsible for the activity of all Users on your Account.
2. Content you must not upload
You must not, and must not permit any User or third party to, upload to the Service any content that:
- is unlawful, infringing of third-party rights, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable;
- you are not entitled to share with us under the terms of the document itself, the law, or any obligation of confidence owed to a third party;
- you do not have the necessary rights, permissions or consents to upload, including in respect of any personal data relating to third parties; or
- contains viruses, malware, or other malicious code.
3. Conduct you must not engage in
You must not, and must not permit any User or third party to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, any other customer's account or data, or any underlying infrastructure;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- use the Service to develop a competing product or service;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service;
- share account credentials with any person who is not an authorised User;
- exceed the User cap applicable to your Subscription Tier;
- circumvent or interfere with usage metering, billing, or any security or access-control feature of the Service;
- use the Service in a manner that disproportionately impacts its operation for other customers, or that threatens its security, integrity or availability; or
- represent the Output as the work product of a qualified legal, commercial, or technical professional adviser.
4. Fair and reasonable use
The Service is metered by Review, as set out in the Terms of Service. You must not attempt to disguise, split, or otherwise manipulate Reviews to avoid usage limits or charges. We may apply reasonable technical measures to detect and prevent abuse of the Service or its metering.
5. Reporting misuse
If you become aware of any actual or suspected breach of this AUP, any unauthorised use of an account, or any security vulnerability, please notify us promptly at support@usebeaconhq.com.
6. Consequences of breach
Where we have reasonable grounds to believe this AUP has been breached, we may, depending on the seriousness of the breach: issue a warning; suspend access to the affected account or Users; remove offending content; or suspend or terminate the Subscription in accordance with the Terms of Service. Where practicable, we will give notice before taking action, but we may act immediately where the breach poses a risk to the security, integrity or lawful operation of the Service.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time in accordance with the change provisions of the Terms of Service. The "Last updated" date above indicates when it was most recently revised.
